More than three long years between “Layers..” and “Demonic Art” – 3 Years where you changed the Record Company (in Europe your Album comes via Massacre Records) and had to integrate a new Singer in the Band… tough Work wasn’t it?

Sort of, but it has made us stronger. It was of course sad that Andreas left the band, but we saw it as a challenge and a chance to start up all over and bring a new vocalist with fresh ideas into the band. Then Nuclear Blast decided to licence Demonic Art to Massacre becuase they could give us a higher priority and have the album released earlier, and that was very positive for us, so we’re in a good mood.

Why u did came up with Jens as your new Vocalist. No Fear that he might be a little bit under pressure because of his work with CONSTRUCTDEAD and THE DEFACED where he is still active?

We knew that Jens was a very good vocalist since he sings in Klas other band The Defaced, so we asked him to join us and he accepted immediately. I don’t think there will be a problem with him singing in other bands as well. We all have side projects and so far there hasn´t been any problem.

The well known DARKANE Sound hasn’t changed really much during this three years break – my interest first: how much was Jens involved in the song writing for the new Album?

Jens contributed with two lyrics on Demonic Art. He doesn’t write any music and since it’s still Klas, Peter and I who writes it it still in the same style. This is how we want Darkane, and I don’t think there’s any other band out there who sounds like us.

Ya know - we journalists are always looking for comparisons – especially the Titeltrack reminds me a lot on INTO ETERNITY – and yes am pretty sure you will deny this! But hopefully a statement you can live with.

Ok, I’m not really familiar with Into Eternity, but it would be interesting to check them out. We mostly have older influences, like Slayer, Meshuggah, Death and Strapping Young Lad.

DARKANE were over the years always everybody’s darling esp. among us journalists – why do you think that the huge success –compared to bands like CoB, In Flames and so on – didn’t came up for you! For sure we can’t blame it on the quality of your release, because ALL of them are outstanding - in my opinion.

Thank you very much! I guess we’ve had a little of bad luck combined with the fact that we haven’t toured very much. Touring is the best ways of getting out to the masses with your music. Also, Darkane plays quite technical music which probably isn’t for everyone. If you like fast food metal that can be consumed easy and then forgotten, then Darkane isn’t for you. Our music requires attention from our listenerns and if they like it, then it will last longer.

If I had to choose the one and only track from “Demonic Art” it surely would be “Execution 44” – do you have some special songs too on the new one or do you like all your babies the same?

I like them all in different ways. Execution has a special place for me since I like playing the guitar solo in the beginning on stage. Then I’m very proud of the intro since we had to work a lot on it collecting musicians and so on.

Second: Don’t you have any jobs to do in Sweden, you are nearly 2 months away from home??

Actually it has grown to 50 shows now... in 52 days. Yes, we are looking forward to it alot but at the same time we think it is a liitle too long, but what are you gonna do. Some of us has had problems with being away from work, but it’s solved now and we can look forward to living in a bus for two months. The worst thing however for me, Klas and Peter is to be away from our kids for so long. My youngest will probably learn to walk while I’m away.

But esp. for us Europeans – what about any future plans concerning a European Tour – I do hope you will think about that a lot guyz! And don’t tell me u doing a four date’s Italian tour in November...

We are doing three dates in Italy in November... because one of them got cancelled. I don’t know about the future then. We have this huge US tour and will probably not be able to tour right after that one, but hopefully we can play some summer festivals in Europe and then do a longer tour in the fall. Let’s hope!
